oakland x Stacy N.K.R ‘goodnight’ Review: 90s Neo-Soul Haze, Modern UK Rap Calm

Riding the line between retro neo-soul and modern hip-hop, oakland x Stacy NKR’s “goodnight” glides on glassy keys, skip-step drums, and a calm, conversational flow that lands like a midnight note passed across the room.

The palette nods to the 90s smoky, atmospheric, yet the beat science is firmly present-day, a tasteful blend of soulful samples with a punchier trap/new-school undercurrent.

Lifted from the duo’s six-track EP smooth fm, released 3 September 2025, “goodnight” fits the project’s lens on modern relationships while doubling as an immediate highlight, the kind of after-hours cut that invites a slow head-nod and a quick replay.

Short, moody, and impeccably produced, “goodnight” proves how far finesse can travel without ever raising its voice.
